What is DashBro?

DashBro turns your iPhone into a dashboard for any car. Everything comes from the phone itself:

  • •A large GPS speedometer in km/h or mph, as a classic round dial or a compact readout
  • •Speed camera alerts, including average speed zones and an overspeed warning
  • •Navigation to a place you share from Google Maps or Apple Maps, with route options, next turn and arrival time
  • •A live 2D or 3D map with day and night styles
  • •A music panel with artwork, synced lyrics and playback controls
  • •Portrait and landscape layouts, dual panels, HUD mode, and trip history with a share card at the end of a drive

DashBro is free. There is no adapter to buy, nothing to pair with the car and no account to create.

How do I set a destination?

DashBro takes its destination from the maps app you already use:

  1. 1Find the place in Google Maps or Apple Maps
  2. 2Tap Share and choose DashBro
  3. 3Pick a route (you can avoid tolls or highways), then tap Start

DashBro then shows the next turn, arrival time, remaining distance and trip progress.

Which permissions does DashBro ask for?

  • •Location: required. Speed, position, route and speed camera alerts all come from your phone's GPS.
  • •Apple Music: lets the music panel show what is playing and control playback.
  • •Microphone: optional, only if you turn on song recognition. Audio is matched on the fly and never recorded or stored.

You can change any of these at any time in the iPhone Settings app.

Can I see my speed after leaving the app?

Yes. When you switch to another app during a drive, DashBro can keep your speed and arrival time visible in Picture in Picture or in the Dynamic Island (Live Activity). Location keeps updating in the background until the drive ends.

Units, themes and layouts

  • •Speed in km/h or mph
  • •Light and dark themes, with day and night map styles
  • •Portrait or landscape, with one or two panels
  • •HUD mode mirrors the display so it reads correctly when reflected in the windshield

Where do speed camera alerts work?

Speed camera alerts currently cover Taiwan, using government open data. DashBro downloads the camera list from our server; nothing about you or your drives is uploaded.

Camera data may be incomplete or out of date. Always follow posted speed limits and road signs.

Where do the lyrics come from?

Synced lyrics are looked up in the lyrics database you choose in settings, such as LRCLIB. Only the song title and artist are sent. Some songs have no lyrics, or no time-synced lyrics, in the database.

Data & Privacy

DashBro does not use:

  • ×Accounts or logins
  • ×Analytics, ads or tracking SDKs
  • ×Any connection to your car

Stays on your iPhone:

  • ✓Your location, used to show speed, route and alerts
  • ✓Trip history and settings

We never sell your data.
